Having just returned from World Tea East, and spending time with such wonderful tea people, I am now over-flowing with excitement in anticipation for World Tea Expo to be held in Long Beach, California, next May.
It simply must be said that exhibiting and attending any event put on by World Tea Media is essential to starting a tea business, growing a tea business, and making and maintaining important connections within the tea industry. Now, while I was exhibiting at World Tea East - of course - a few people caught my ear about things to do in California next May. First of all, I am told the weather will be glorious! Warm in the day and chilly at night so be sure to pack a jacket! Not to take you away from Long Beach, but if you plan to visit a few days before or after World Tea Expo, I am told that a side trip to Laguna Beach would be great fun. You may find more information at Visit Laguna Beach, a year round retreat for art lovers. I also learned about two fabulous events held in Laguna Beach each year but find they will not be happening during May. Still something to check out, though.

Back to Long Beach now. Some interesting facts about the history of Long Beach may be found here. If you are looking for arts and culture, click here. Someone told me that Whale Watching might not be in season in May but I researched this for you and have found information about that. Some of Southern California’s best whale watching happens in Long Beach! The Blue Whale may be seen June through October off the coast of Long Beach. The Gray Whale may be seen December through May. A variety of other marine mammals such as Humpback Whales, Killer Whales (Orcas), Minke Whales, dolphins, sea lions and sea birds may be spotted in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. If you are a landlubber, a visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific presents an opportunity to take in more than 11,000 ocean animals, representing over 500 species. Exhibits range in size and capacity from about 5,000 to 350,000 gallons. The Aquarium is situated on over six acres on Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, across the water from the Long Beach Convention Center.
