Stay tuned as World Tea Expo announces their 2015 New Product Showcase which highlights new products entering the market.
Chai Master has released a new tea brewing machine called CRAFTEA (TM) that combines induction heating and an internal stirring mechanism. The product, created by Pratima and Jitu Keshav, can be used to make tea or chai. It is designed to accommodate a range of steeping temperatures and to simplify brewing. The product’s inspiration came when Pratima was distracted and discovered that the chai she was steeping on the stove had once again boiled over, scorching her pot and making a mess on the stovetop. She challenged Jitu to create a solution. He designed CRAFTEA which can make the perfect chai or steep other tea or botanical drinks. This kettle device has a magentically-held stirrer seated in the middle that creates “a vortex,” which the Keshavs say increases brewing speed and releases more flavor. The water is heated using induction at the bottom of the kettle. The stirring then pulls the hot water away from the sides of the kettle and prevents the liquid from boiling over or scorching. The top of the kettle stays cool even while the water inside gets hot. Craftea uses stainless steel and BPA-free plastics, and many parts are dishwasher safe. It can make between one and four cups of tea and has settings pre-programmed for different tea types. Pre-ordering is now available for $199. The retail price will be $249.
