Honest Tea has announced a redesign of their glass bottle labels, as well as a new flavor within their popular bottled tea line.
The new labels maintain the well known “T” as the primary focus, but Honest Tea worked with an oil painter to develop new artwork, where each T would display a key ingredient of the tea flavor. A new flavor will make its debut in October. Radiant Raspberry Tea builds on a Southern Indian organic black tea and incorporates raspberry juice, blackberry leaves and cane sugar.
The company is also committing to expanding its work with Fair Trade by switching to Fair Trade certified, organic sugar for its organic teas. They are further focusing on building their socially responsible credentials by participating in 1% for the Planet, a program where businesses agree to give at least 1% of net revenues to environmental charities. Last year’s charities included Fair Trade USA, Food Corps and the National Parks Foundation.
“Our glass-bottled line continues to be the top-selling bottled tea in the natural channel, and even as we’re having one of our best sales years to date, we felt now was the time to double-down on our mission,” said co-founder & TeaEO Seth Goldman in a press release.
Honest Tea introduced its first Fair Trade bottled tea in 2003. The company was purchased by Coca Cola in a two-part deal that was completed in 2011.
