International Tea Importers, ITI, has announced Desirée Nelson as the new Marketing and Sales Director for both ITI and Waterfall Tea Company.
Nelson has been in the tea industry for more than 13 years. She owned Lavender Lounge Tea Company in San Clemente, Calif. from 2002 - 2008. She then spent six years as the Sales Team Manager and in Business Development at QTrade Teas & Herbs. Her years at these companies allowed her to cultivate her craft as a tea blender and consultant. Upon leaving QTrade, Nelson continued her tea consulting work and will now be responsible for sales and marketing activities for both ITI and Waterfall.
ITI was founded in 1990 by Devan Shah. They were one of the original sponsors of World Tea Expo and the company also operates the very successful Chado Tea Rooms, located in downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Pasadena and in India. (Chado Tea Rooms are managed by Shah’s wife, Reena.) ITI imports tea directly from the source and supplies it to companies, large and small. They have hundreds of teas in their lineup, including more than 150 scented teas. They are a leading supplier of tea to ready-to-drink chai manufacturers across the country, as well as supplying large quantities of tea to companies that use it as an ingredient in foodstuffs.
Waterfall Tea Company is focused on iced and hot tea for the foodservice industry. They supply whole leaf pyramid bags, loose leaf, iced teas and chai mixes.
Note: ITI is a World Tea Expo Sponsor and Exhibitor
