Steven Smith is responsible for some of the best known brands in American tea, having founded both Stash and Tazo Tea. Most recently he has owned and operated Steven Smith Teamaker with his wife Kim DeMent. A consummate professional, he has traveled the world seeking the finest teas. He developed more than 60 proprietary blends for Tazo.
The 65-year-old Smith has been living with advanced liver cancer. Plans were underway to expand his company's warehouse and production facilities.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and son.
