The Tea Board India is instituting awards of excellence for tea growers in the country for the purpose of recognizing excellence in Indian tea reports The Hindu.
Awards will be given in 22 categories, including: small growers, tea start-ups, innovative packaging and value-addition efforts. Special appreciation awards will be given to top-graded gardens.
These awards are in support of the Make in India initiative, which was launched by the Indian prime Minister in 2014 in an effort to build India’s economy.
