Hemp Iced Tea Launched in Australia
Sydney, Australia-based Teabags Tea Shop launched Hemp Iced Tea, the country’s first cannabis-infused iced tea, reported the Liverpool City Champion. The freshly-brewed, organic, non-GMO Hemp Iced Tea is available in five flavors: cherry blossom, mango, watermelon, lychee and strawberry lime, and packaged in recyclable bottles. “Our passion for fresh, healthy and innovative products made Hemp Iced Tea a natural development,” said Owner Le Ho. “We want introduce hemp to the market whilst educating our customers about the health benefits associated with hemp.” The launch followed Australia Day Weekend, which celebrates the first landing of British ships in Port Jackson, New South Wales on January 26, 1788 and Governor Arthur Phillip’s raising of Great Britain’s flag at Sydney Cove. Australia legalized hemp as a food product in November 2018. Cannabidiol, also referred to as CBD, is the legally permitted non-psychoactive compound present in hemp and contains omega-3, omega-6 and antioxidants and amino acids. The new collection of Hemp Iced Teas can be purchased at the two western metropolitan Sydney Teabags Tea Shop locations in Canley Heights and Cabramatta. New Age Beverages Develops CBD-Infused Beverages
Denver, Colorado-based organic and natural beverage company, New Age Beverages, announced it has created and is distributing a collection of Marley branded CBD-infused beverages. The line debuted on January 13 at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco where orders for the new products were being placed. The first drink in the company’s expanding CBD portfolio, Mellow Mood, was already sold as a tea meant to promote relaxation, but the new version has cannabidiol. It comes in three flavors: peach raspberry, lemon raspberry and herbal honey. The blends are packaged in 15.5 ounce cans, and each serving contains 25 milligrams of pharmaceutical grade CBD. “From the moment the CBD movement began, I've been receiving calls nonstop asking when we'd be going to market with a Marley+CBD product,” said Michael Cunningham, Senior Vice President of Sales for New Age via press release. “Under the Marley brand platform, we are able to leverage a massive global brand with ties to healthy cannabis use, to ultimately grow a beverage brand beyond anything we have seen to-date." So far, New Age has agreements for distribution with accounts spanning more than 125,000 outlets.
Elev8 Brands Formulated CBD Iced Tea
Olando, Florida-based Elev8 Brands, Inc. a holding company centered around development hemp products for commercial distribution, announced the launch of its lemon CBD iced tea in November 2018. The company chose the flavor for its popularity and familiarity. “We are very pleased to be bringing both a CBD coffee and CBD tea to market in the RTD category,” said Elev8 Brands, Inc.’s CEO, Ryan Medico in a press release, “Lemon flavored CBD Iced Tea will be our first flavor to market as we believe it will appeal more to the masses.” The company is also responding to the rapid growth of ready-to-drink tea’s market share and plans to launch additional flavors in the future.
