Every year, Disneyland’s Steakhouse 55 offers “A Very Merry Holiday Tea Party,” attracting many repeat guests and new ones alike. Meant to be enjoyed by people of all ages, it begins Nov. 16 and continues each Friday – Sunday through Dec. 31.
Steakhouse 55 is located in the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California. Adjacent to the Downtown Disney District, the hotel is within walking distance from Disneyland Park and the Disneyland California Adventure Park.
“When our team at Steakhouse 55 creates a themed tea event, our goal is to tell the story of the theme through the tea selection, the food offerings and the floral centerpieces on each table,” said Senior Manager of Food and Beverage, Robert Clunie.
A fun, festive holiday theme permeates the holiday tea party from start to finish. Seasonal favorites in the holiday tea service are: Nutcracker Black Tea (which has hints of hazelnut and vanilla), Sugar Plum Rooibos, and Apple Pie Green Tea. Tea sandwiches include: Cucumber hummus and smoked salmon, coronation curry chicken, and a Monte Cristo doughnut hole with lingonberry jam. A creative and colorful variety of sweet treats decorate the presentation. A Santa Mickey cookie with cookies and cream chocolate cookie “coal” scones, pumpkin spice cake with butter cheese frosting, and chocolate covered strawberries—one of which looks like Santa Clause’s coat and the other looks like a Christmas ornament—bring holiday cheer to guests’ plates and palates.
Tea-infused cocktails, such as the peppermint champagne spritz and the pear martini cocktail are also available.
Steakhouse 55’s elegant and timeless décor is modern, while being reminiscent of a classic Hollywood club. Large photos of celebrities from the film and music industries adorn the walls. The restaurant’s name honors the year Disneyland opened, 1955.
“I have worked on several other restaurant concepts, and Steakhouse 55 is one of the best,” said Clunie. “It is an award winning, Zagat-rated, fine dining restaurant that is open for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. It features excellent food, attentive service, and a stellar wine and beverage program.”
Steakhouse 55 hosts additional tea events during the year for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Halloween. In the past, it has also hosted Disney and Pixar themed tea events centering around Beauty and the Beast or Disney villains. Traditional Afternoon Tea is offered year-round between noon and 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday with additional days open during the holidays.
“Guests embrace the creative spirit and effort that goes into each themed tea event,” said Clunie, who highly recommends reservations be made in advance.
Classic Tea service is priced at $52, Premium tea service, which adds a glass of sparkling wine and a green salad is $65 and Kids Tea service is $35.
