This year, World Tea Expo is poised to meet the ever-changing needs of the tea business with its latest edition at the Las Vegas Convention Center from March 24-26.
The 2025 World Tea Expo is more than just a trade show; it's a dynamic platform that mirrors the shifts and challenges facing the tea industry worldwide. Whether it’s combating climate change, finding routes to market, or appealing to a new generation of tea drinkers with iced teas and RTDs, World Tea Expo remains at the forefront of facilitating crucial discussions and showcasing cutting-edge products that define the future of tea.

This year, the Expo will have its own dedicated entrance on the second floor, with an official ribbon cutting and opening ceremony sponsored by Japan.
Japan's Rising Influence
Speaking of Japan, the country dominates World Tea Expo this year with its pavilion of exhibitors, highlighting its growing influence in the global tea market. While traditional powerhouses like Sri Lanka and China have scaled back their participation, Japan's dominance opens doors for new suppliers and producers eager to establish their footprint in the lucrative U.S. market.
This presents a prime opportunity for American tea professionals to discover unique flavors and traditions from Japan's rich tea culture. The absence of some major tea-producing nations also underscores a pivotal moment for new entrants and innovative tea brands to captivate American consumers, especially younger tea drinkers.
The Japanese Pavilion is led by Tea Capital Shizuoka, a prefecture located in the middle of Japan that boasts the largest tea growing area in the country. Exhibitors will be showcasing a variety of teas and tisanes, include matcha and green teas. Attendees will also be able to learn about the prefecture’s long history of tea production and its Fukamushi (long steam) technology, which creates Sencha (Japanese green tea) with a beautiful color and rich umami flavor.
