Chatting with GTC Contender Cheng Tea
World Tea News chatted with Larry Yu of Cheng Tea about why the company is submitting to the Global Tea Championship.
Tell our readers a bit about your company and the types of tea you supply/sell.
Our company, Cheng Tea, has been established by our founder, China's nationally certified Tea Appraiser Bowen Shao, with the intention of sharing award-winning, top-level tea normally enjoyed only within professional tea appraiser circles with the general public. The company also wants to spread China's thousands of years of tea culture to the younger generation. Cheng Tea owns its own tea ranches in different parts of China and controls its own manufacturing process to ensure the utmost level of purity, sanitation, and taste of its tea offerings.
Why did you decide to enter the World Tea Expo Global Tea Championship?
Tea is one of the main offerings from China that has been demanded by the rest of the world for centuries; treaties have been signed for it, and wars have been fought for it, and it is one the most central representatives of Chinese culture. Therefore, it is only appropriate for Cheng Tea to share the love of tea and the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits it's been bringing to Chinese people for thousands of years with the rest of the world. There is no better platform than the World Tea Expo Global Tea Championship.
What would it mean to you to win an award in the World Tea Expo Global Tea Championship?
It would be a tremendous accomplishment to win an award in the World Tea Expo Global Tea Championship because the Chinese have been perfecting the art of tea for thousands of years, but it was not always represented appropriately to the rest of the world. Therefore, winning an award would be a validation for all the dedicated work and passion Cheng Tea has put into bringing the highest level of Chinese tea culture to the world stage.
