Nepal Tea Collective released Rose Label #157, a limited edition black tea made from a historic Bannockburn mother bush.
Considered one of the rarest teas in the world, according to Nepal Tea Collective, Rose Label #157 is named for its rose characteristics. The tea leaves were nurtured on the Kanchanjangha Tea Estate in Nepal for 40 years.
“This tea is very special, and it feels like an honor for us to share it with the world,” said Nepal Tea Collective Founder Nishchal Banskota.
In terms of the experience of the tea, Banskota noted: “Upon opening a packet of Rose Label #157, you are overwhelmed with the aroma of a rose garden, and then the scent slowly matures to include hints of vanilla. The same distinct scent translates perfectly into the cup.”
Banskota added, “The liquor is a bright vibrant amber color that fills the entire room with rose, honey and fruity. That’s the sign of an extraordinarily well-crafted tea. Fruity muscat grape notes and plumb-like sweetness are prominent on the mid palate, and the vanilla like sweetness just lingers in the back palate for quite a long time.”
Rose Label #157 retails for $100 per 100-gram package or $50 per 50-gram package. Supplies are limited and orders will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis.
Nepal Tea Collective is a public benefit corporation that distributes fresh teas – organically grown and packed at origin in Nepal – throughout the United States and worldwide. All of the company’s teas come from four different small-holder farms in Nepal.
Nepal Tea Collective aims to bridge the gap between tea farmers and customers by moving past the middlemen and working directly with producers.
They also focus on making the “tea farm to table” supply chain traceable and transparent. Each package is labeled with a QR code that can be scanned for info about where, how and when the tea was produced.
