Health-Ade Kombucha Launches 6 New Flavors

Torrance, California-based Health-Ade Kombucha has launched six new flavors, all of which are certified organic, Non-gmo, gluten-free, vegan, raw and kosher, reports a company press release.

The refreshing new flavors are:

  • Cherry Berry, which is made with cherries, elderberries and hibiscus;
  • Grapefruit, which brewed with pink grapefruit and blood orange;
  • Tropical Punch, which has a traditional punch flavor with an added tropical twist;
  • Passionfruit-Tangerine contains fruits from Peru and the United States;
  • Strawberry-Lemonade tastes how it sounds—a blend of kombucha and strawberry lemonade;
  • Peach-Mango tastes like a fresh, juicy peach with the added touch of sweetness from mango.

“Developing new flavors is not only an integral part of the Health-Ade business model, but it’s one of my favorite processes,” said Daina Trout, CEO and Co-Founder of Health-Ade, who is the final taste tester of any new Health-Ade product. “We found ourselves with an opportunity to bolster our flavor variety; sourcing inspiration from colors, we set out to recreate popular notes seen in other beverage categories, that have yet to be fermented and turned into kombucha. Our primary goal is to make things that taste great and make you feel great above all else–that’s the Health-Ade difference.”

The company is also introducing various sizing and packaging options, such as the 8 ounce 4 packs of Pink Lady, Ginger Lemon, and Pomegranate, which will be on Whole Foods Market’s shelves beginning in May.

“For the past seven years, we at Health-Ade have held fast to the belief that if you always follow your gut, the result will be happiness,” said Justin Trout, Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of Health-Ade. “Our guts have not led us astray yet.”

Greenbelt Kombucha Hits Supermarket Shelves

Austin, Texas-based craft kombucha brewing company Greenbelt Kombucha expanded into grocery stores at the end of March.

Greenbelt Kombucha can now be found in the refrigerated section of more than 130 H-E-B supermarkets in Texas, as well as neighborhood markets like Four Five and Quickie Pickie, reports Austin360.

The kombuchas incorporate different types of herbal tisanes, such as rooibos and yerba mate.

Customers can choose from among four creative kombucha tea blends:

  • Hibiscus Berry Black Tea,
  • Strawberry Fields Rooibos Tea,
  • Blood Orange Yerba Mate, and
  • Peach Blossom White Tea.

The company’s founders, Adam Blumenshein, Tim Klatt, Nathan Klatt and Rick Boucard of Barrel Creek Provisions and Texas Sake Company and Gavin Booth of Couple in the Kitchen set out to make canned kombuchas that would be less sweet and less vinegary-tasting than some others on the market. Each 12-ounce can of kombucha has about 40 calories and no added fruit juice.

The company is proud to employ wind energy to support its brewing practices.
