Sri Lanka has seven regions that produce tea with a different flavor, aroma, and color.

Nuwara Eliya - golden with adelicate fragrance and flavor.

Uda Pussellawa - dark with a subtly tangy flavor.

Dimbula - amber with a mellow flavor.

Uva - pleasingly distinct aroma and smooth flavor.

Kandy - coppery color and robust flavor.

Sabaragamuwa - dark with a slightly sweet fragrance and mild flavor.

Ruhuna - dark with a bold flavor.

These regions still use the traditional methods introduced by James Taylor, the British founder of the Ceylon tea industry. The hand-plucked leaves are allowed to dry and then gently rolled, producing warmth that promotes oxidation. The leaves are then roasted, cooled, and screened by size.
