DMH Ingredients Acquires Herbal Teas International

dmh-ingredients-incFebruary 13, 2014 Herbal Teas International, exclusive North American distributor for South African based, Rooibos Ltd., announced the sale of its business and subsidiary, Tiger Botanicals, to DMH Ingredients, a specialty food ingredient distributor to the food and pharmaceutical industries. Mr. Hugh Lamond, longtime supporter and sponsor of World Tea Expo, founded Herbal Teas International over fourteen years ago, and according to him, selling his business was not an easy decision to make. However, he states, "I believe the time is right personally and I feel very comfortable that DMH is the best possible company to take the business forward to everyone’s mutual benefit." Mr. Lamond will continue to be actively involved in the business for the next three years, with an emphasis on ensuring a seamless transition. DMH Ingredients is based in Libertyville, IL,  just outside of Chicago, with office and warehouse space of 37,000 sq. feet. All sales and other business operations will be carried out from that location. "They will continue to offer shipments from a West Coast and East Coast base, in addition to their Chicago warehouse," easing the escalating cost of freight, according to Lamond, Begun in 1991 by David Damlich and Tom Hatch, DMH Ingredients, Inc. prides itself in providing, "unsurpassed customer service" and states, "Our business philosophies will mesh very well with Mr. Lamond, his suppliers, and customers.
