Murder Mystery Series Uses World Tea Expo as Backdrop

Cozy mystery fans sit back and enjoy the fifth installment in The Traveling Tea Ladies Series. Strong women, strong southern friendships and strong tea are steeped in this mystery best described as "Charlie's Angels Meet Steel Magnolias." Tea room owner, Amelia Spencer, and her three friends are known about their small town of Dogwood Cove, Tennessee as "The Traveling Tea Ladies." Everywhere their tea travels take this foursome murder and mayhem seems to follow. The cast of this tea murder mystery series also includes Cassandra Reynolds, third generation owner of Reynolds's Chocolates and best-dressed diva; Olivia Rivers, the brash and sassy owner of River Bend Ranch; and Sarah McCaffrey, the free-spirited local librarian.

Murder SeriesThe tea ladies travel to “Sin City” to support Amelia’s tea business as they compete for the North American Tea Championships at World Tea Expo. Sarah is also attending Comic Con in the hopes of meeting her favorite sci-fi author Jonathan Kirks, professor of parapsychology at the New Mexico School of Paranormal Studies. When Professor Kirk is tragically murdered, the police focus on ghost busting Sarah, the last person seen with his unpublished manuscript rumored to be in talks for a three movie deal. The Traveling Tea Ladies will have to muster forces and call on a few spirits to get Sarah out of hot water. Tea tips, outstanding recipes, and a resource guide of "Sin City" are included in this mystery.

“These books are not only for tea lovers, but mystery readers as well. I’ve enjoyed hearing from many readers that they learned new tea information and prepared a pot or two of tea while they are reading,” author Melanie O’Hara said. “Many people are hesitant to try tea. I’ve tried to make it fun and more approachable for them.”

When asked why Las Vegas and the World Tea Expo were selected as the destination of this book, O’Hara was quick to answer.

“I wanted to bring attention to the tea industry and educate readers about World Tea Expo, after all tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world and is constantly in the headlines for its well documented health benefits. I also encourage my readers to use tea as an ingredient in cooking by sharing tea infused recipes from my tea room,” O’Hara said.

Melanie O’Hara is the owner of Miss Melanie’s Tea Room in Johnson City, Tennessee. This is her fifth book in The Traveling Tea Ladies series. Her new series, Savannah Skies, debuts this fall. Melanie, her husband and large brood of children make their home in their 109 year old tea room. She is available for book signings, tea tastings and tea lectures.
