The new teas are Vibrant Blackcurrant, Crisp Mint, Zesty Lemon & Ginger and Delicious Cranberry & Apple. PG Tips, a Unilever UK brand, believes that these teas will draw more customers to its current line. The fruit and herbal range was introduced in February of 2014. These pyramid bag offerings previously included Refreshing Peppermint, Delicate Chamomile, Juicy Red Berries, and Aromatic Spices and Mint. The Green Tea line began with five other teas: Pure Green, Juicy Raspberry, Fragrant Jasmine, Vibrant Mandarin Orange and Zesty Lemon, before adding Crisp Mint. PG Tips earliest history began in 1870 when tea purveyor Arthur Brooke was asked to supply bulk tea for wholesale. In the 1930s, Brooke launched the brand Pre-Gest-Tea which was abbreviated to PG by grocers. The company renamed the brand PG Tips, to communicate that the tea was the coveted top two leaves and a bud. Delicious Cranberry & Apple and Vibrant Blackcurrant earned the Great Taste Award from the Guild of Fine Foods. SOURCE: Talking Retail
