Meet the Presenters of "Making Dollars and Sense of Selling Organic"- Beth JohnstonBeth Johnston- Beth Johnston discovered her passion for tea while on her honeymoon in 1998. Shortly thereafter she founded Teas Etc., an industry recognized supplier of wholesale premium bulk, pre-packaged, private label teas and accessories. Her extensive travels have afforded her the opportunity to evaluate tea with some of the world’s masters. In a defining moment Teas Etc. became the ONLY female owned company to win World Tea Championship hot tea category in 2008 and 2009, continuing every year thereafter with numerous wins in multiple categories. The company’s success is driven by Beth’s creative, high-energy, no none-sense business style and an unwavering commitment to quality and customer experience. Marty Mesh- Marty Mesh became committed to organic agriculture and sustainable food systems while a farmworker in 1972, started growing organically himself in 1973 and in 1976 helped start Bellevue Gardens Organic Farm in Archer, Florida. Marty helped form Florida Certified Organic Growers & Consumers, Inc. (FOG) in 1989 and has served as Executive Director since 1995. FOG is active in local, state, national and international work to further sustainable agriculture and improved food systems. FOG is active in various food systems projects, is a leader in policy and advocacy work and has earned a well-respected global reputation. SuzetteEdwards Suzette Edwards- Suzette is currently the senior Certification Coordinator at QCS for food processing and handling operations, and routinely processes the most complex applications received by QCS.  She conducts initial and final reviews, assists fellow staff in interpretation of the NOP Final Rule, and counsels clients to help ensure compliance with the National Organic Program standards.
