World Tea Academy – the leading online tea education and certification program from the organizers of the World Tea Expo Conference + Expo – is gearing up for its January 2021 CORE.02 class on “Tea Enhancements and Grading Systems.” Students can currently save $30 with promo code CORE230 (offer valid through Dec. 28, 2020). You can learn more about CORE.02 here.

Building on the foundation material of CORE.01 (a WTA class that’s also offered in January 2021), and understanding how a single plant can create hundreds of kinds of tea, this CORE.02 class will explore post-manufacturing tea processes, such as baking, aging, blending, flavoring and more.

In the second section of this fundamental class, students will sort through the alphabet soup of tea grading systems and look at the meaning and methods used for grading tea used in China, India, Sri Lanka, Japan and Taiwan. The last section of the class will focus on the sensory evaluation of teas that have received post-manufacturing processes.

Overall, World Tea Academy offers two levels of certification and five advanced certification paths. Students who complete a World Tea Academy program can become certified by WTA as a Tea Specialist through the Core Curriculum, or pursue the Tea Professional, Tea Sommelier, Tea Health Expert, Tea Blender or Tea Aroma Expert Certification through the Advanced Curriculum.

All of the WTA online classes are filled with rich content, valuable tea knowledge, videos, group discussions, materials for hands-on learning and downloadable course materials

World Tea Academy Tip: For students who are taking WTA courses, be sure to keep track of your personal progress and the specifics on each class needed to achieve WTA certification. Download the Student Tracker here.
